Puffed rice balls/Pori unda

Having puffed rice on hand is always convenient. You can always put together something to make it good to munch on. Puffed rice by itself is a good munchy. I like it soaked in my tea/coffee or milk. The recipe on hand is simple yet so tasty. It has only 2 main ingredients. You could add nuts and raisins if you please. So here is the recipe for the day. Hope you try it. Your kids will be pleased too.

Puffed rice-5cups
Jaggery/palm sugar-250g
Cardamom powdered- as required

Dissolve jaggery in a little water and filter to remove impurities if any. Heat it until it forms one thread consistency. Add the cardamom powder and switch off the stove. Mix in puffed rice and make into balls before it cools off.

Tips:

1. You can use sugar instead of jaggery.
2. Jaggery hardens as it cools off. You should be real quick in forming the balls.
3. Adding toasted coconut adds to the taste
